Tony AppletonWith more than 25 years of experience as a mechanical engineer in the energy sector, Tony Appleton serves as offshore wind director for Burns & McDonnell. He leads the firm’s rapidly expanding offshore wind initiatives and has an experienced team of professionals. Previously a consultant for Burns & McDonnell, Tony has spent the last 15 years leading organizations and teams in the offshore renewables and interconnection global markets, supporting more than 35 offshore wind farms across the globe.  

Throughout his career, Tony has served as consultant, specialist, manager and director of projects across conventional thermal power, gas and nuclear generation markets. He specializes in managerial, commercial and business development, and has delivered power and infrastructure strategy to clients across the world. Tony and his team support offshore wind projects that will help provide efficient, sustainable energy as the global energy sector transitions to renewable energy solutions throughout the coming years. Tony earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Newcastle University, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and later completed the Future Leaders Programme at Henley Business School (formerly Henley Management College), in Henley-on-Thames, England. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
