Andy GeissbuehlerAndy is leading Atlantic Power Transmission, a Blackstone Infrastructure Partners Portfolio Company, dedicated to delivering offshore wind power to US households through the development, construction, and operation of comprehensive transmission solutions. 

Andy brings over 25 years of large-scale energy project leadership and held executive positions with industry leaders such as ABB, Alstom and GE. As an example, his responsibilities with GE included turbine supply, installation and port operation for the Block Island Project, the first commercial offshore windfarm in the US. Further, he was leading the US business for a European offshore wind developer and served as Chairman for several wind energy generators.  

Before launching Alstom’s North American wind business in 2008, Andy was responsible to execute all the EPC combined cycle power station projects in the US, followed by moving to Europe to lead the global power generation sourcing & procurement with a yearly spend of 7 billion Euros.  

In addition, Andy has advised several US East Coast States on offshore wind strategic planning, supply chain and infrastructure. He is also part of Team Norway as US Country Manager with Norwegian Energy Partners. Further, Andy is implementing an innovative Jones Act marine logistic solution for offshore wind installation in collaboration with European partners and US Private Equity.  

Andy is a Swiss and American citizen and holds a Master’s in Engineering (ETH Zurich) and an MBA (William & Mary Mason School of Business, Virginia).
